The Canadian forward participated in his first exercises with his teammates on Wednesday since he suffered a knee sprain on September 28. However, he was wearing a dark blue sweater suggesting that he could not receive contacts.
The Finn remained on the ice for around ten minutes before returning to the locker room. He had spent about 30 minutes on the ice before practice started.
On Sunday, Laine also remained on the ice with his teammates to make a few passes, but retreated to the locker room before the start of the drills.
If all goes well, the 26-year-old could be back in action by the end of November. His convalescence was expected to last two to three months, as he had opted not to undergo surgery.
Furthermore, striker Brendan Gallagher was absent from training to undergo treatment.
