The opening of the biathlon world cup ball will take place without the queen. World No. 1 Lisa Vitozzi, hampered in her preparation by a painful back, will not participate in the first stage in Kontiolahti, Finland, from November 30 to December 8, the Italian Winter Sports Federation announced on Wednesday in a press release.
