When you think of an upcoming draft prospect who has family in the NHL, it’s impossible to think of anyone other than Tij Iginla first. Jarome’s son will be drafted early tomorrow evening.

But he’s not the only prospect with NHL ties.

On this subject, the NHL History Instagram account published several images to explain to us which prospects are in the family of a prospect, a player or an NHL executive.

Obviously, we know that Aatos Koivu (Saku’s son) and Cole Hutson (Lane’s brother) are guys who should be drafted within a few days.

But did you know, for example, that Jacob Oster (OHL goaltender) is a distant cousin of the Tkachuk brothers? That Ilya Bryzgalov’s son (Vladislav) is a BCHL goalie? That Macklin Celebrini has a brother (Aiden) who is a Canucks prospect?

However, it is important to mention that there are two other players who draw attention to the Canadian. For what? Because they are family members of a manager of the Canadiens.

Noah Lapointe, who plays for the American development program, is the son of Martin Lapointe, a big draft pick in the Canadian organization.

We’re talking about a 6’1 left-handed defender.

Note that Lapointe will play in Arizona in the NCAA next year. He is really not certain of being drafted, he who is the 198th North American prospect at the moment among skaters.

And we also have to talk about Callum Hughes, who is the nephew of GM Kent Hughes. He is therefore the cousin of Jack (not the Devils player) and Riley, Kent’s sons who were drafted into the NHL in recent years.

We’re talking about a forward who played in the BCHL.

Theoretically, Hughes has a better chance of being chosen on Saturday than Lapointe since the nephew of the CH GM is ranked 99th among skaters in North America. But a club still has to want it.

After scoring 42 points in 54 games last year, he is expected to play at Boston University next year. Yes, he is indeed a member of the Hughes family.

A lot of

– They forgot Bob? Wow.

– Pierre-Luc Dubois doesn’t hold it against the Kings. I hope! [TVAS]

– Candidates for the Rocket.

– Having defenders who play on both sides is a plus.

– Their logo looks like another logo.
