The French volleyball star calls on the French to block the far right.
Earvin Ngapeth, star of the French volleyball team, told AFP on Thursday “encourage votes against the National Rally” three days before the first round of early legislative elections which plunge France into a period of great political uncertainty.
“I simply encourage votes against the National Rally, which conveys ideas, values, principles that are not mineargued Ngapeth, who no longer recognizes his nation. The France that I love is a France where everyone mixes, like our team which is going to compete in the Olympic Games and within which we give joy to the French.”

Ngapeth, standard bearer?
The 33-year-old is the leader of the Blues who will defend their Olympic title won three years ago in Tokyo at the Paris Games (July 26-August 11). On the occasion of this major event, he wanted to apply to be standard bearer of the French delegation at the opening ceremony.
“It seemed important to me to represent French volleyball in this way, after all these years of fighting to occupy an important place in French sport.”he explained.
In his wake, in addition to the feat at the Tokyo Games, the French have also won three Nations Leagues (2015, 2017 and 2022) and each time, the attacker-receiver was named best player of all these victorious campaigns.
Ngapeth, who is currently recovering from a calf injury, will not take part in the Nations League finals in Lodz, Poland, starting Friday, the final rehearsal before the Olympics. Without him, France will try to beat reigning world champions Italy to reach the semi-finals.
