The 121st edition of Women’s Amateur Championship has been launched since this Wednesday in its final phase. The one which sees the field of players irremediably reduced by half as the rounds of matches progress, starting with the 32e of final.

The Tricolores did better than 50%. Three of them, out of the five who had qualified in the best 64, won their first match. Highest-ranked player at seed No. 10, Camille Min-Gaultier despite everything found herself facing a major opponent: the Belgian Savannah de BockEuropean ladies’ champion Saint Germain two years ago. But the very recent vice-champion of France had the upper hand quite clearly, winning with a score of 4&3.

Inès Archer (RCF La Boulie), for its part, faced the Canadian player Ashley Chow. She only needed 17 of 18 holes to win, with a score of 3&1. Similar scenario for Sara Brentcheneffwho has good memories of tournaments of this format, having reached the final of Ladies Spanish Open at the end of winter.
