PSG will have no shortage of work this summer during the transfer window. The capital club will notably have to make a decision regarding the future of Xavi Simons.
Luis Enrique wants to quickly complete certain files that are dragging on. He will nevertheless have to wait until after Euro 2024 regarding Xavi Simons. However, there is little doubt that the young Dutch midfielder will not play for PSG next season. Xavi Simons intends to stay in the Bundesliga, while a more certain place awaits him there. The former Barça man has two real opportunities for a new loan: Bayern Munich and Leipzig, where he was already on loan last season. And between the two German clubs, Simons apparently has a big preference.
Xavi Simons, Bayern Munich leaves very late
According to information from Bild, Xavi Simons would very much like to stay in Leipzig to continue his career. For the moment, no agreement exists with PSG, who only wants a loan and not a sale despite Leipzig’s desire to secure the player for several seasons. The reason ? In the event of a sale this summer, PSG will have to give a percentage of the price to PSV Eindhoven. A simple loan or one with a compulsory purchase option is possible. But we will still have to agree on the amount. Leipzig will not be able to give more than 60 million euros when Paris Saint-Germain hopes for 100 million. Concerning Bayern Munich, the Bavarians have not said their last word and have greater financial comfort than Leipzig. Bild ends by specifying that if Bayern were unable to recruit Xavi Simons, the club will fall back on Dani Olmo, who has a release clause set at 60 million which runs until July 15. More affordable and undoubtedly less complex to finalize than the Xavi Simons operation.
