Luis Campos returning to Monaco with Saudi Arabia? The rumor was launched on Sunday evening by L’Equipe, while Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev has been seeking to sell his club for months and reportedly has an offer from Saudi investors ready to entrust the presidency of the Monegasque club to PSG’s Portuguese sports advisor.
But L’Equipe made it clear in its article that the takeover of AS Monaco by Saudi Arabia was still far from being certain. Seeing Luis Campos return in the short term to a club that he knows very well therefore seems unlikely, especially since the transfer window has already started and the Portuguese is actively working on it, even if only one recruit has signed to date, the goalkeeper Russian Matvey Safonov (see the PSG transfer window here).
A Campos/Al-Khelaïfi relationship in good shape
According to RMC Sport, Luis Campos is in any case fully focused on the PSG transfer window and has not given an agreement to AS Monaco. The radio thus affirms that the Portuguese sports advisor will stay at PSG this season, he who still has one year of contract with the capital club. While his relationship with Nasser Al-Khela¨ïfi, who was not at the origin of his coming to the club, may have fluctuated in recent months, RMC Sport affirms that it is currently in good shape, which gives therefore little credence to the hypothesis of seeing Luis Campos slip away to AS Monaco.
RMC Sport finally explains that Campos participated last week in a meeting with other PSG leaders and club partners and that according to witnesses, his speech was that of someone totally committed to the Parisian project for next season. .
