The unmissable event of ASSE!

That’s it, it’s now official, the calendar for the next League 1 season has been revealed. ASSE will start the season away and end it at home against Toulouse. A calendar which has some similarities with that of previous years when AS Saint-Étienne returned to the French first division!

It was a moment eagerly awaited by all the supporters, AS Saint-Étienne knows the date of its championship matches. This year, 17 matches will take place at Geoffroy-Guichard, since the championship is only made up of 18 teams.

The main ASSE posters:

Phase of all

  • ASSE – RC LENS: 20 October
  • OL – ASSE: 10 November
  • ASSE – OM: December 8
  • PSG – ASSE: January 12

Return phase

  • OM – ASSE: February 16
  • ASSE – PSG: March 30
  • RC LENS – ASSE : 06 avril
  • ASSE – OL : 20 avril

It was certainly the most anticipated event, the return of the derby. The first match will therefore be at Groupama Stadium while the return match will take place on the weekend of April 20, just before a public holiday (Easter Monday).

No matches during the week

This year, of the 34 matches that each club will play, none will be played during the week. It’s a choice that is quite rare, but this time the LFP will stick to it.

» Before the 2014/2015 season, the calendar was symmetrical, that is to say that with the exception of the poster for the 1st day which was found on the last day, the order of the opponents faced in the phase going was the same on the return phase. Also note that in 2024/2025, there will be no weekdays. “

In Monaco to start!

If Saint-Etienne will end its season at home, the start of the championship will be away. Indeed, the Stéphanois will travel to the Stade Louis II to face Monaco on the weekend of August 18. A meeting, which recalls two previous ones a few years ago!

Indeed, during their last two returns to the elite in 1999-2000 and 2004-2005, the Stéphanois always faced Monaco to start the season! So this will be the case once again.

The latest results against Monaco for the Greens’ returns to the First Division

  • 1999-2000 : AS MONACO – ASSE : 2-2
  • 2004-2005 : ASSE – AS MONACO : 0-1

See you, in just two months, for the return of the championship, and the new confrontation between Saint-Étienne and Monaco.
