It’s time to get back into shape for Amine Adli. Victim of a serious injury which ended his season, the Moroccan international has started his rehabilitation, his club announced.
Amine Adli left the field following a clash with Soumaila Coulibaly during the draw against Brest in the Champions League. Coming into play after the hour mark, Adli was only able to stay 15 minutes before giving way to Martin Terrier, helped by the staff to reach the locker room.
Returning to Leverkusen after the match, the international player underwent medical tests which detected a fractured fibula in his left leg. The latter underwent surgery.
Now the Atlas Lion, who will not be able to join his team for the CAN 2025 qualifying matches, is focusing on his fitness to be back in force in January.
As a reminder, Adli recently extended his contract with Leverkusen until 2028. In total, the Moroccan scored 21 goals and provided 22 assists in 126 matches for Bayer Leverkusen. Injured, the Lion of the Atlas will have to miss the next gathering of the national team on the sidelines of the matches against Gabon and Lesotho, as part of the CAN 2025 qualifiers.
