Thanks to the victories of the Blackhawks, Sharks and Ducks, the Montreal Canadiens are the only team in the National Hockey League (NHL) that has not yet won five games this season.

Sunday evening, these three bottom-ranked teams had the pleasure of signing their fifth victory in 2024-2025.

CH for its part has a record of 4-9-2. The Belle Province club has lost its last six games. He will try to end this bad streak and obtain a fifth victory on Monday against the Sabers in Buffalo.

In Chicago, Connor Bedard and his gang won 2-1 in overtime against the Minnesota Wild.

It was a success from Philipp Kurashev which made the difference in overtime. It was his third goal of the season.

Jason Dickson, in the first period, was the other scorer for the Blackhawks, who ended a short two-game losing streak with this victory.

Matt Boldy scored the Wild’s only goal. He hit the mark in the third period.

A first for the Sharks

In San Jose, the Sharks managed to shut out a team for the first time all season.

Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood frustrated the Devils 44 times in a 1-0 win. It was his 11th career NHL shutout.

In the defeat, Jake Allen stopped 26 pucks. The former Habs player was only thwarted by a shot from Nico Sturm in the first period.

The German played a bit of luck after making a good breakthrough in the opposing zone. While trying to hand the puck to a teammate in front of the net, the precious object hit a rival and last its course behind Allen’s back.

Victorious return for Gibson

In Anaheim, goalie John Gibson played his first game of the season and the Ducks took the opportunity to defeat the Blue Jackets 4 to 2.

The 31-year-old veteran made 40 saves. He did not start his campaign at the same time as his teammates due to a sudden appendectomy at the end of September.

Brett Leason, Jackson LaCombe, Leo Carlsson and Isac Lundestrom (empty net) moved the strings against the Jackets. In the case of the first two, it was their first goal in 2024-2025.

The visitors’ response came from the sticks of Yegor Chinakhov and Kirill Marchenko. Claimed on waivers during the day, defender Dante Fabbro was not in uniform with the Blue Jackets.
