Ghanaian striker Inaki Williams is expected to miss the last two days of the CAN 2025 qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
Inaki Williams’ club Athletic Bilbao have confirmed that the 30-year-old is suffering from a hamstring injury ahead of Sunday’s La Liga match against Real Valladolid at the José Zorrilla Stadium.
According to the club, Williams was ruled out of the match because he was unable to recover in time.
“The striker will be unavailable for Sunday’s La Liga match against Real Valladolid”said the club in a press release.
Inaki Williams, who has scored five goals in the current season, has been called up to the Black Stars for the last two matches. In the meantime, he is expected to have a scan on Monday to find out the extent of his hamstring injury.
The Black Stars will open camp on Sunday in Accra and hold a series of training sessions at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling for the round five match against Angola and then hosting Niger three days later.
The Black Stars currently sit third in Group F, with just two points from four games, behind Angola and Sudan, and will attempt to qualify for Morocco despite the fact that it will be difficult.
