N3 (8th day). AF Virois – Paotred-Dispount: 1-0.

Hard. Very hard to take for the Paotred-Dispount. Mikaël Caoudal’s players conceded “the killer goal” at the last second of added time, on a cross from Illand which ended up unscrewing its trajectory into the back of Douguet’s net (1-0, 90′ + 4 ). The Gabéricois really didn’t deserve that.

The Trafalgar coup!

Except for one second, the scenario was almost perfect. The members of the Paotred technical staff had in fact noticed that Vire had conceded two thirds of his goals in the second half (8 out of 12) and their first objective was therefore to hold the 0-0 until the break. Objective achieved. It could even have been better if, on a pass from Quéméré, Njie had not slipped after dribbling past the Virois goalkeeper (3′). Or worse, because Lambrabette also had a great opportunity to open the scoring when his shot went over the goal of Finistère goalkeeper Douguet (10′). But the time that passed in the second half seemed to work in favor of the Gabéricois, who even offered themselves another opportunity through Quéméré (76′). Their only scare came from a header off target from Perrier (78′). Before the Trafalgar move that Illand played on them!

After a defeat at Saint-Lô (1-0) and a draw at Flers (0-0), the Paotred-Dispount hoped that their “Norman progress” would allow them, for their last trip outside , to return with a victory of Vire. But a draw would have made them happy and they were obviously extremely disappointed with a trip that was going to be long on the way back. “It’s a loose cross that ends up in the opposite corner, it’s part of football, but the draw would have been deserved. We gave Vire possession but we were very good defensively. That’s what we have to rely on and that’s what I told the players,” sighed their coach Mikaël Caoudal, getting back on the bus.
