The day of Friday June 21 was marked by the Terre de Jeux 2024 label. Young and old alike shared a moment rich in sporting activities and emotions with an Olympic day on the program with schoolchildren, the discovery of an exhibition and evening shows.
An Olympic day for schools
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Cerisaie sports complex welcomed 800 participants from Brassens, Daudet, Michelet, Molière and Condorcet schools. The students, accompanied by their teachers, practiced around ten sporting disciplines (football, basketball, Nordic walking, athletics, etc.). This day allowed young people to exercise while learning the importance of team spirit, effort, and respect.
Inauguration of the exhibition “From factory to stadium”
The end of the day was marked by the launch of the exhibition “From the factory to the stadium” at the Fabrique des savoirs. This exhibition traces the history of sport in Elbeuf sur Seine through photographs and emblematic objects from 1870 to the present day. Ahead of the visit, young people from the Elbeuvien gymnastics club Tempo Gym gave a demonstration, accompanied in music by the Elbeuf sur Seine fanfare drums.
“L’Envol” trampoline show
The highlight of the day was the trampoline show “L’Envol”, presented at the Cirque-Théâtre d’Elbeuf in the evening. The performance was sold out and delighted the spectators with impressive aerial performances, combining agility, grace and technique. This program in partnership with the Cirque-Théâtre d’Elbeuf came at the conclusion of the “Trampoville” project, during which Elbeuvians were able to try the trampoline and attend demonstrations by trampolinists in the city’s neighborhoods.
A musical closing
Last big event of the day: the concert of the TSF group organized on the occasion of the music festival. Notes of jazz, rock and blues invaded the Place du Champ de Foire for the pleasure of all. The festive and friendly atmosphere helped prolong the magic of this day of sport and celebration.
