Al Ain, where Soufiane Rahimi plays, announced this Friday, November 8, the arrival of Portuguese coach Leonardo Jardim to lead the team, succeeding Argentinian Hernán Crespo.
The decision of the Al Ain management to part ways with Crespo was taken recently after the decline in performances and results of the club, which won the Asian Champions League last season.
Al Ain clarified on its X account (formerly Twitter) that the contract with Jardim will last until the end of the Club World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States next summer.
Jardim, 50, is no stranger to pitches in the Gulf or the Emirates, having previously coached Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Shabab Al Ahli in the Emirates, and Al Rayyan in Qatar.
During his short stint at Shabab Al Ahli, Jardim won the Emirates Championship in the 2022/2023 season, and he had also led Al Hilal to the Saudi Arabian League title the previous season, in addition to a victory in Asian Champions League in 2021.
