If CAN 2023 ended six months ago with the coronation of Côte d’Ivoire, the African selections are already planning for the continuation and the next edition which will take place in Morocco. While waiting to resolve the question of the date (we are leaning towards a postponement to December 2025 due to the FIFA Club World Cup), CAF announced this Thursday the official date of the qualifying draw: 4 next July.

“The race towards the CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2025 will be officially launched on Thursday July 4, 2024 with the draw for the qualifiers for the said competition, in Johannesburg, South Africa. The draw will be made at the SuperSport studios at 2:30 p.m. local time (3:30 p.m. Cairo time, 12:30 p.m. GMT). 48 nations, including the four winners of the preliminary round (Chad, Eswatini, Liberia and South Sudan), will be divided into 12 groups of four teams.
