Rafael Nadal had never hidden his desire to compete, on the clay court of Roland-Garros, in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The first part of his wish was granted since he was selected to play in singles, and even in doubles to form a dream tandem with Carlos Alcaraz, recent winner at Porte d’Auteuil.
Already Olympic champion in singles (2008) and doubles (with Marc López in 2016), “Rafa” maintains high ambitions for the Paris 2024 Olympics despite the weight of his 38 years. As proof, he announced that he will take part in the ATP 125 tournament in Bastad (Sweden), from July 15 to 21 as a warm-up.
No doubles preparation with Alcaraz?
In order to prepare for the Olympics, I will play the tournament in Bastad, Sweden. A tournament that I played earlier in my career and where I had a great time on and off the field. Looking forward to seeing you all there
