Regragui gives priceless gift to Morocco team

Algeria Football Morocco coach Walid Regragui expressed his willingness to help Moroccan Olympic team coach Tarik Sektioui benefit from all potential players for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, which will be held from July 26 to August 11.

During a press conference at the Grand Stade d’Agadir, Regragui announced that he is coordinating with Sektioui to visit some European clubs in the coming days, in order to convince them to release their players for the Olympics. He stressed: “Some European clubs refuse to let their players participate, so we will meet with them to negotiate. We are also counting on the support of Fouzi Lekjaa, president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.”

Regragui clarified: “We are doing everything possible so that the Moroccan Olympic team benefits from its best talents, in a friendly manner. It is legitimate for clubs to refuse, because they invest a lot in their players. We hope to succeed in convincing them.”

Regragui also opened the door to players from the Moroccan championship under the age of 23, in the event of refusal from European clubs, mentioning players like Chadi Riad, whose participation could be blocked by Crystal Palace.

He concluded by saying that they will do everything to allow Sektioui to put together the best team possible, aiming to go far at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Moroccan Olympic team recently beat Liberia 6-1 in a friendly match in Rabat.
