The Blues delayed at the Euro, the threat is real

Due to the dissolution of the National Assembly on Sunday evening, the TF1 channel broadcast the friendly match between the French team and Canada (0-0) with a few minutes of delay. Enough to provoke the anger of football fans. And the scenario could repeat itself during the Euro.

At the start of its friendly match against Canada on Sunday, the French team was nowhere to be found for viewers. The meeting was to be broadcast live on TF1 at 9:15 p.m. But we had to wait an additional quarter of an hour to see Didier Deschamps’ men on the screen. The broadcaster actually offered the game with a few minutes of delay due to Emmanuel Macron’s unexpected decision.

Following the heavy defeat of his party in the European elections, the President of the Republic announced the dissolution of the National Assembly. The channel has therefore chosen to treat this information as a priority, even if it means provoking the anger of football fans who may already fear the same scenario during the Euro. After the head of state’s announcement, the next legislative elections are scheduled for June 30 and July 7. Nothing to fear regarding the date of the second round since no match in the competition will be played.

Especially not 3rd place…

On the other hand, two round of 16 matches are scheduled for June 30, and the France team could well be affected by one of these matches. The Blues, if they finish among the four best thirds at the end of the group stage, could face the first of group C (England, Serbia, Denmark, Slovenia) on Sunday June 30 at 6 p.m. (on M6), with a risk of extension during election night. Or come across the top of group B (Spain, Croatia, Italy, Albania) at 8 p.m., in a match broadcast on TF1 at the worst time. French fans can only hope for qualification among the top two in the group.
