Dylan Holloway ‘couldn’t pass up a 2-on-1’

Last night, we were treated to a scary scene during the game between the Blues and the Lightning: Dylan Holloway, the young Blues forward, was hit by a puck in the neck and he had to leave the game on a stretcher.

For those who haven’t seen it, it looked like this:

The good news is that despite his hospitalization last night, the young person is already doing much better. He was released from hospital, and today he was well enough to speak to the media at the Blues training complex.

He really avoided the worst. It left a mark, but nothing more.

However, what we notice in the sequence is that the young person does not retreat directly to the bench after being hit in the neck. In fact, he joined his team’s counter-attack, while the Blues had a 2 against 1. He retired to the bench afterwards, before collapsing.

Obviously, the journalists asked him about this… and it resulted in a whole sentence:

When I was reached, I knew I was wrong. But then I saw we had a 2-on-1, so I couldn’t let that go. –Dylan Holloway

Beyond the fact that this is a real hockey player’s phrase (for better or for worse), it clearly demonstrates that the attacker (who has just signed a hostile offer and who probably wants to (ensuring he was in the good graces of his new organization) was more focused on the opportunity to score than on his own health.

And we’re not talking about a 3 against 0: a 2 against 1 at the end of the first period when the score is 0-0, that’s good… but perhaps not to the point of ignoring one’s health, d ‘especially since it could have been very serious.

The most important thing, that said, is to see that the kid doing well today. It could have had much more serious consequences, but in the end, he even hopes to be able to play tomorrow evening.

Hopefully if he does, it’s because he’s actually fit to play, not because he won’t want to miss a chance to be 2v1.

In burst

– Kevin Dineen fired by the Devils farm club.

– We feel it.

– Cale Makar avoided the worst. He could play tomorrow night.

– Looking forward to seeing that.
