Olympic boxing champion Imane Khelif files legal action for moral harassment.

The International Olympic Committee said the boxer was filing a complaint following the publication of press articles reporting a leak of her medical records.

Imane Khelif won the Olympic boxing gold medal in the women’s welterweight category at the Games this summer amid huge controversy. The International Boxing Association said the Algerian was disqualified from last year’s world championships for failing to meet gender eligibility criteria.

Articles published in in particular have claimed that the 25-year-old young woman has XY (male) chromosomes.

Khelif’s first opponent in Paris, Italian fighter Angela Carini, made it known that she could not continue their fight after 46 seconds, stating that she “had never felt a punch like this”

Ms Khelif filed a complaint with French authorities over the abuse and harassment she suffered online during the Games. The IOC said on Wednesday it was also taking action following new information that emerged in France earlier this week.
