Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz is visibly very frustrated with his team’s poor start to the season.
The “Preds” are the team that spent the most during the last off-season, notably offering lucrative contracts to forwards Steven Stamkos and Jonathan Marchessault. The club has maintained a very ordinary 4-7-1 record so far in 2024-25.
“I’m trying some things right now,” Trotz said Tuesday during a radio interview with 102.5 The Game. We will be a little limited because of the contracts we have, but if we cannot move forward, then I will begin our reconstruction plan.
“What we do in the summer is fantasy hockey until we’re a good team. If we don’t become a good team, then we’re going to see a lot more of our young people starting their journey,” he also said, referring to the team’s prospects who are currently playing for the Milwaukee school club.

The Predators are installed at 29e rank in the National League for goals scored per game (2.42) and 24e circuit level for goals allowed (3.42).
The Nashville team will try to return to success this Wednesday, when they visit the Capitals in Washington.
