Blues forward Dylan Holloway was hospitalized after being hit by a puck in the neck in a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday in Saint Louis. His condition is stable, the team said later in the evening.

Holloway was hit in the neck by a puck with 2:37 left in the first period. He stayed in the action and completed his presence on the ice. He returned to the bench under his own power, skating.

With 1:11 left in the period, during a stoppage in play, his teammates urged the Blues bench for help. Medical personnel from both teams rushed to Holloway. A few minutes later, the player left the arena on a stretcher. He raised his arm to reassure those who were worried about him.

Referees Wes McCauley and Cody Beach then sent both teams to their respective locker rooms.

Dylan Holloway will remain under observation at the Saint Louis hospital where he was taken, the Blues said.

The Blues won this match 3-2.
