The New York Sirens have finally signed their very first pick in the last draft, Sarah Fillier.
The 24-year-old Canadian signed her one-year entry contract on Friday. She will therefore be able to participate in the Sirens training camp, which is scheduled to begin later this month.

Fillier won gold with Canada at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, and she has also represented the maple leaf four times at world championships, three of which ended on the top step of the podium. She was also named player of excellence during the most recent edition.

The Ontarian was selected first overall on June 10 after a successful stint with Princeton University, in the NCAA. Captain of the team, she scored 30 goals and 13 assists in 29 games.
Fillier is also part of the Canadian team, ahead of the next Rivalry Series between Canada and the United States. The first game of this series of five will take place Wednesday in San José.
