EDMONTON – Jason Robertson scored a hat trick, including the game-winning goal in the third period, to help the Dallas Stars erase a two-goal deficit and win 5-3 against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 of the final of the Western Association at Rogers Place.

Robertson completed his hat trick to make it 4-3 at 11:54 of the third period. He got the puck at the mouth of the net and managed to find a thin opening between goalkeeper Stuart Skinner’s pad and the post to score.

Dallas leads the series 2-1. Game 4 is Wednesday in Edmonton (8:30 p.m. ET; CBC, TVAS, SN, TNT, truTV, MAX).

Wyatt Johnston and Miro Heiskanen also found the back of the net, while Jamie Benn, Roope Hintz and Tyler Seguin had two assists for the Stars. In front of the net, Jake Oettinger resisted 26 shots.

Connor McDavid scored a goal and collected an assist while Zach Hyman and Adam Henrique also scored for the Oilers. Skinner surrendered four times on 21 shots.

Hyman gave the Oilers a 1-0 lead at 2:02 of the first period when he stepped into the semicircle and McDavid’s shot from the right circle hit him and ricocheted into the net. It was Hyman’s seventh goal in as many home playoff games.

McDavid doubled the lead at 7:34, after receiving a cross-ice pass from Mattias Ekholm at the mouth of the net. It was McDavid’s 100th career playoff point (33 goals, 67 assists) in 64 games.

The first period was dominated by the Oilers, who led 10-3 in shots after 20 minutes. But the Stars bounced back by scoring three goals in the space of 3:33 in the second period.

The first was scored at 5:35, when Robertson made it 2-2 with a one-timer from the left circle under Skinner’s glove on a pass from Hintz.

Robertson tied the game at 8:05, when Hintz took his rebound and sent it to Robertson in the slot, who scored with a backhand into the top of the net.

Wyatt Johnston added more 63 seconds later to give the Stars their first lead of the game. Jamie Benn prevented a clearing attempt from defender Vincent Desharnais before sending the puck to Logan Stankoven who passed it to Johnston to allow him to beat Skinner.

But the Oilers were able to tie the game when Adam Henrique, who had missed the previous seven games with a lower-body injury, made it 3-3 with 53 seconds left in the period. The Oilers took advantage of a Thomas Harley turnover for Connor Brown to allow Henrique to score from the front of the net.

Heiskanen completed the scoring into an empty net at 18:05.
