The Olympic and Paralympic Games told to children by children

Initiated by Maxime Scotti, associate professor of PE, under the direction of Cécile Fromentin, head of the establishment, this project demonstrates that sport can be at the heart of educational and interdisciplinary work.

It is also the fruit of a remarkable work proposed by the students of this college located in a priority education network. It also illustrates the commitment of the teaching teams to bring the values of our Games to life in favor of our students’ learning of fundamental knowledge.

This work, published by Éditions EP&S, is labeled and supported by the Great National Cause 2024 (GCN2024)decided by the President of the Republic and supported by the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to promote physical and sporting activity among all, starting with the educational community as a whole. The GCN2024 aims to raise awareness of the benefits of sport which are so essential for our students, to fight against a sedentary lifestyle and to avoid the addiction to screens to which our youth are exposed.

This book is part of this dynamic in order to raise awareness among middle school students of Paris 2024 Games and invite them to discover many sporting disciplines. Abundantly illustrated, it presents all the Olympic and Paralympic sports, accompanied by interviews with different personalities and humorous and cultural texts. By treating a subject that mobilizes young people, it encourages the integration of fundamental knowledge (reading, writing, counting) through the reading of rigorous but also fun documentary texts.

With the support of GCN2024 and the National Sports Agency, a copy of this book will be sent to all colleges in France to enrich the funds of their documentation center.
