Indeed, in the columns of Tipsbladet, Medhi Benatia affirmed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, loaned with an option to buy this summer from Tottenham, would indeed continue the adventure in Marseille. “Pierre signed for a loan with option to purchase, the operation of which will soon become permanent. He will help us in our Champions League qualification project,” assures Benatia.
Hojbjerg will stay at OM for a while
It must be said that the Marseille leader seems absolutely delighted with the arrival of the Danish midfielder who has established himself as a real captain in Roberto De Zerbi’s project in just a few weeks. “We are very happy to have him here in Marseille. Before his arrival, we had a lot of discussions with him and our president Pablo Longoria. Pierre told me that he had offers in Italy, England and other countries, but that if we found an agreement with Tottenham, it was in Marseille that he wanted to play. Pierre is one of the best, if not the best, player in Ligue 1 in terms of ball possession and successful passes. That says everything about his role on the pitch and as a leader in midfield. He is a natural leader and a good example for all his teammates, especially the younger players. We have a very young team and Pierre is essential for them to learn what it means to play football at such a high level. It is really important for Roberto De Zerbi,” assured Pablo Longoria’s advisor. Hojbjerg’s Marseille adventure is therefore likely to drag on for a little while!
