The Sporting Charleroi season is over for the players, but behind the scenes, the staff and the recruitment team are busy. To avoid reliving such a nightmarish season, the Zebras want to build a competitive team capable of aiming for the top of the rankings. According to our information, the first two leads are two very well-known players in the Hainaut region.

THE BIG BROTHER

Belgian international until U19, Laurent Lemoine (26 years old) spent a large part of his training in Mons and Bruges before joining Roeselare. During the 2018-2019 season, the native of La Louvière joined the Mechelen team, with which he won the D1B championship and the Belgian Cup. In order to gain playing time, the central defender then signed for Lommel. During the 2023-2024 season, he joined Deinze as a free player, having a very strong end to the season. According to Transfermarkt, he is estimated at 250,000 euros and is under contract until June 2026.

In 2015, the Belgian-Brazilian was part of the Chilean epic which marked the history of Belgian football by finishing third in the U17 World Cup, alongside players like Wout Faes, Orel Mangala and Dante Rigo.

THE LITTLE BROTHER

Trained at RAEC Mons and FC Bruges, Gabriel Lemoine (23 years old) had impressed during his training and was courted by major European clubs such as Juventus and Monaco. In 2019, he thought he was making a wise choice by signing for Bordeaux. However, the Belgian-Brazilian did not have the expected playing time in Ligue 1. The native of La Louvière then chose to leave France to join Lommel in Belgium, where he found his brother Laurent Lemoine, then Hartberg in Austria, before finally coming home this summer with a transfer to RAAL.

Arriving with the reputation of a real nugget, he did not have much playing time to prove himself due to injuries. The club and the striker therefore decided together to loan him for six months so that he could accumulate playing time and score goals in Knokke. During the 2023-2024 season, Gabriel Lemoine wore the Cappellen jersey in amateur D1, where he completed a full season. The former Belgian U18 international did not extend his contract and is now free to commit wherever he wishes.

It remains to be seen whether Sporting will manage to find common ground with the two players, but it is undeniable that these two avenues seem very promising, both from a financial and qualitative point of view.
