On the eve of the inauguration of the village, Vendée, the public and the sailing world are in the starting blocks!

Saturday October 19, 2024, the Vendée Globe village opens its doors to the public.

And many surprises await you…

An “educational” village of 30,000m²

From a total area of ​​30,000 m²the Vendée Globe village will be a “big popular festival” announces Alain Leboeuf, president of the Vendée departmental council, “a big party which will be above all around the skippers”.

An immersive room and a room for the environment

A immersive room, with a 360° screenwill immerse spectators in the shoes of a skipper.

Between storms, meeting animals and feeling of solitude on a calm sea, the video briefly retraces all the situations encountered by these adventurers over the next three months.

Just after this video room, a room reserved for marine biodiversity will allow spectators to learn more about the ocean environment and the protection of the planet, a cause that particularly affects skippers.

40 boats at the dock

THE last boats have arrived this Friday October 18 in the morning.

The Minister of the Interior will be present

On the occasion of the inauguration of the village, the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau will be present, with the president of the Department Alain Leboeuf, to cut the ribbon.

The first visitors will be able to enter from 10 a.m. to visit the village and enjoy the various stands and activities.
