The trial of Konstantinos Tsagaroulis, accused of the murder of a woman which occurred in Bois Armand-Frappier, in Chomedey, last May, is delayed. His lawyer still does not have a legal aid mandate to represent him.
Konstantinos Tsagaroulis’ case was back in court on Tuesday, December 10, at the Laval courthouse.
“Despite numerous steps, I still do not have a legal aid mandate for six months,” explained Mr. Andrew Galliano, lawyer for Konstantinos Tsagaroulis, while addressing the court. I have taken all the necessary steps, it is really out of my control, we will have to postpone.”
“I expect you to return at the next date with a request for a preliminary investigation?” asked Judge Éric Côté.
“As I tell you, if I don’t have a mandate, it’s difficult for me to move this issue forward. I am going to relaunch legal aid again this week to see where we are with the mandate,” replied Me Galliano.
Konstantinos Tsagaroulis, 20, was arrested on May 30. He is accused of the first degree murder of Irina Draghicescu, a 46-year-old real estate agent, found unresponsive in Bois Armand-Frappier and killed with a knife.
These are testimonies from citizens who allowed investigators from the Laval Police Department to arrest the suspect.
The rest of the procedures have been postponed until January 22, 2025.
