Brian Riemer was recently fired from his coaching position at RSC Anderlecht. For some players, this came as a surprise.
Brian Riemer had to pack his bags just under a month ago after the 0-2 defeat against KRC Genk. In the meantime, David Hubert took over and was confirmed as T1.
“I have to say it was a big surprise that Brian was fired at that time,” said the Anderlecht player Ludwig Augustinsson to Danish media Bold. “We had lost just one game this season and had just qualified for the Europa League.”

Riemer was criticized, in particular for the level of play developed at Anderlecht. “I have to say that Brian is a fantastic coach. He is always well prepared, tactically competent and advocates attacking and attractive football,” Augustinsson continued.
Last season, the Mauves et Blancs were in contention for the title, after a very difficult season previously. Anderlecht full-back says Brian Riemer did a good job.
“With the work Brian has done at Anderlecht, it is clear to me that he played a major role in the club’s return to the top of Belgian football after several years of lethargy,” concludes Augustinsson.
