Florine Jeanrenaud was elected to the Municipality of Avenches on Sunday. The 44-year-old socialist, manager at the justice of the peace, replaces trustee Gaetan Aeby (PLR) who resigned last April.
At the end of the 2e round of this complementary election, Florine Jeanrenaud collected 395 votes. She beat her two colleagues from the Municipal Council, Samuel Apothélos (PLR) and Thomas Broillet (Rassemblement avenchois), who respectively gleaned 376 and 250 votes. The participation rate was 33.45%.
Ce 2e round was organized because none of the three candidates managed to obtain an absolute majority during the 1st round on September 22.
The citizens of Avenches will return to the polls on November 24, this time to designate the person who will ensure unionization.
For the record, Gaetan Aeby announced in April that he was going to leave the Municipality, citing a busy schedule. He had served on the Avenches executive for 12 years, including three years as trustee.
