Jules Koundé took care this Wednesday to respond to criticism from Jérôme Rothen and Jean-Michel Larqué on the clothing style of the players of the team.

Not thrilled by the little fashion show offered by the players of the French team when they arrived at Clairefontaine at the start of the week, Jérôme Rothen paid for their supposed lack of rigor. The RMC Sport consultant, with peroxide blonde hair, castigated the eccentricity of internationals in his show Rothen s’enflamme and received the support of Jean-Michel Larqué. Always so reactive on social networks and part of this clothing revolution among the Blues, Jules Koundé responded to them.

“But finally, gentlemen, you must not get carried away like this for so little. Faced with this abundance of kindness we no longer have a choice,” quipped the side of the France team in a message published this Wednesday on his X account (formerly Twitter).

“We will all arrive with tracksuits and crampons on our feet”

Once expected to recover the captain’s armband for the October gathering before seeing Aurélien Tchouaméni being chosen by Didier Deschamps, Jules Koundé once again showed his ability to tackle non-football subjects.

“The next gathering, we promise, we will all arrive with the tracksuit, the crampons on our feet without forgetting the parka if it rains Mr. Larqué,” said the right side of the France team again.

Sometimes mocked, sometimes praised for his clothing innovations by Internet users, Jules Koundé nevertheless launched a sort of small competition within the selection as Ibrahima Konaté recognized. And the Liverpool defender walked the talk with an outfit from the Kenzo brand which caused a lot of talk this week. Jules Koundé took advantage of this beautiful exhibition to become the muse of the Jacquemus house and expressed his very special relationship with fashion.

“I have always liked to dress, to be well-groomed when I leave the house, whether to buy bread or go shopping,” explained the native during this famous press conference in September. “It’s a pleasure.”
