Before a trip to AS Cannes which will close the season, the women of Saint-Flour HB received Saturday evening in their stronghold of the La Motte Servolex sports complex.
For the Cantaliennes who have had a difficult season and who will suddenly go down a notch, in Nationale 2, this last meeting at home was an opportunity to show their character. They had to try to challenge a quality opponent and above all thank their supporters who never gave up on them.
The game did not start very well for the locals who came across the Savoyards who were concentrated and efficient in defense. We even had to wait 8 minutes for Modenel to unlock the Saint-Flour HB counter.

Despite a goal from 9 meters from Armandet the score was already high (2-8, 12th). The difficulties continued. Jostled, the women of the city of the wind made hand mistakes and hazardous choices which were all bonuses for a team from La motte Servolex who knew how to use them (5-15, 20th).
The last 10 minutes before halftime were better shared (10-19). At the restart, the Sanfloraines, re-motivated, tried to force destiny by giving their maximum. And four goals from Tournadre (2), Boyer and Modenel were good for morale (13-25, 43rd). But the array of combinations always destabilized the orange and black, overwhelmed by the pace, fluidity and mastery of the Savoie girls (16-30, 20th).
Despite everything, Aubin Boyer’s protégés had the merit of fighting through the turmoil and managed to somewhat limit the damage.
Finally, the number 1 outsider to the title fulfilled his contract with flying colors (22-35). Saint-Flour HB, for its part, didn’t have too many regrets, the players just needed to breathe after a season which saw them struggle a lot, in vain…
