The hooker market promises to be agitated: the Castres Gaëtan Barlot, the Clermontois Folau Fainga’a, the Racingman Janick Tarrit, the Bordelais Romain Latterrade or even the Lyonnais Guillaume Marchand and Yanis Charcosset, to name but a few, arrive at the end of their commitment. Many clubs are therefore considering this position.
Among the CVs under study are also those of southern internationals considered to be world references. The name of the All Black Asafo Aumua (27 years old, 25 caps), replacing each day of the last Rugby Championship, is currently circulating in the elite, particularly around Bordeaux-Bègles. The fact remains that two years before the World Cup, it will not be easy to “poach” a New Zealand international in the prime of life.

Julian Montoya (30 years old, 98 caps), currently at Leicester, is another candidate for arrival in France. The Puma would have received several offers and should therefore be spoiled for choice. Arriving in 2021 at the Tigers, the former number 2 of the Jaguares has largely given satisfaction across the Channel, playing 59 matches for an astonishing total of 26 tries. Will its future be written in France? This will be one of the files to follow at the hooker position.
