Agricultural and food issues are at the heart of the ecological transition, but also social cohesion and sovereignty. It is driven by this desire to participate in the transformation of its territory that the City and Metropolis of Montpellier responded to the Call for Expression of Interest (AMI) from the Banque des Territoires, as part of the France 2030 Plan , with the “Solidarity Food Territory (TerrAsol)” project from 2022.
After a first stage of maturation between 2022 and 2024, the TErrAsol project was the first French project selected to move into the 5-year “realization” phase in July 2024, with an allocation of €10 million in subsidies for all projects. presented by the collective representing a total budget of €20 million.
On September 30 and October 1, 2024, the 29 project leaders certified by the Banque des Territoires met in Montpellier, on the occasion of the first national meetings of the Territorial Demonstrators of Agricultural and Food Transitions where the participants were able to visit the approved locations by the Caisse Alimentaire Commune (La Cagette, Biocoop, Sentiers de Cévennes), or the MIN to illustrate the metropolitan food strategy of short circuits.
