Tadej Pogacar finds strong allies. A few days after his road world champion title in Zurich (Switzerland), the Slovenian saw Alejandro Valverde shower him with praise at the Spanish press agency EFE.
“It’s true that there are very good riders now and that we are living in a wonderful time, with four or five great cyclists, but what Tadej is doing (Pogacar) is really crazy”mentioned the former Movistar rider.
He then continued: “We must be happy to experience what we experience with him”as if his presence in the world of cycling was a blessing.
“You have to win everything while you can”
Tadej Pogacar wants to add many races to his record. When he is on a start list, he is necessarily among the favorites for final victory. Alejandro Valverde is aware of this and believes that the UAE Team Emirates rider is right to want to win everything.

“It’s clear that where he’s going, he’s the favorite and if he doesn’t win, he’s close to it. A lot of people say he’s abusive because he wants to win everything, but he has to win everything while he can, because there will come a time when he can’t do it anymore. […] Tadej must take advantage of his good years and make the most of them”he also declared.
