Prince Albert II of Monaco was traveling in eastern France for two days. This Wednesday, the Monegasque sovereign stopped in Mulhouse to visit an automobile exhibition to which he contributed by lending one of his collector cars.

Prince Albert visits the exhibition of his loaned cars in Mulhouse
Prince Ranier III, fond of beautiful cars, has built up a large collection of automobiles, to which are added a few machines that belonged to his ancestors. Prince Albert II continued to enrich his father’s collection, taken by the same passion.
Today, Prince Albert II’s private automobile collection is one of the largest in the world. From a Formula 1 Lotus driven by Kimi Räikkônen in 2013 to a Ford Jeep, including an old Napier automobile from the beginning of the 19th century, a large part of the collection is on display to the public in Monaco.

No need to travel to Monaco to admire this beautiful collection. Everyone who lives in eastern France has until November 3 to visit the National Automobile Museum – Schlumpf Collection, in Mulhouse. The National Automobile Museum has received numerous vehicles from the princely collection on loan. Prince Albert II, traveling to Alsace for two days, went to the museum to visit the exhibition.
Prince Albert visited the temporary exhibition which includes his vehicles as well as the permanent collection. “The exhibition evokes more than a century of history of the princely family in the light of their passion for automobiles,” explains the museum. The exhibition includes “around twenty cars, including a Lotus Seven IV from 1971, Albert I’s first Humber Motorcycle, a rally car and a Formula 1 car.”
