Loaned this summer by OL to FC Nantes, Johann Lepenant should stay in -Atlantique at the end of the season. The Nantes club wishes to exercise the purchase option.

Johann Lepenant has clearly found a place in Nantes where he thrives. His time at Olympique Lyonnais, from the summer of 2022 to August 2024, did not necessarily take the turn he expected, even if he experienced positive sporting moments, particularly upon his arrival. His serious knee injury in November 2023 caused an irremediable turning point in his adventure between Rhône and Saône. So during the previous summer transfer window, the international Espoirs joined Loire-Atlantique.

Transferred in the form of a loan, to which was added a purchase option for 2.5 million euros, the former player lives again with the Canaries. Holder during the last five days of the championship, he was even decisive, scoring twice in a row against (1-1) and Saint-Etienne (2-2). A balance sheet to which must be added an offering against the Greens.

But he will not be back on Sunday at Décines when Nantes travel to OL. Indeed, an agreement exists between the two clubs, as is regularly the case during provisional movements. An aspect that Antoine regrets Kombouarewho, given the numerous absences, necessarily counted on his midfielder against the Rhodaniens.

On the other hand, next season, Lepenant will undoubtedly be able to challenge Olympique Lyonnais. His coach announced that the yellow and green team wanted to keep the 21-year-old footballer. “We knew from the start that we were going to keep it, said the coach. We couldn’t do it for financial reasons because we couldn’t pay the contract.“The clause should therefore be suspended at the end of the 2024-2025 financial year, unless there is an unlikely turnaround in the situation.
