Our fate, whether good or bad, is determined by the voice we choose to listen to. Listening to the voice of the Lord and obeying what He says brings blessings. Ignoring his voice opens the door to many curses. It is impossible to obey God until we have heard his voice, because it is he who informs us of his will.

Many people who profess to be Christians are insensitive to the voice of God. We can carry out our religious activities and obligations, but they are ritual and theoretical. They represent only a structure that we have cultivated and which is devoid of constant sensitivity to the voice of God. Throughout all dispensations, God asks his people to listen to his voice.

In Jeremiah 7, God explains what He actually required of Israel when He led them out of Egypt. The first thing he had in mind was not keeping the law through offerings and sacrifices, but listening to its voice. It was his voice that would help them keep the law and make the necessary sacrifices. His fundamental desire is that we listen to his voice.

The condition is simple: “Listen to my voice, and I will be your God.”

Elisten to the voice of God

Praying is simple. Talk to God like a close friend. Here is an example of a prayer: “Thank you Lord for the work of your Holy Spirit. Today I decide to listen to your voice and obey you. Now how can you apply what God has told you? If you think God is not speaking clearly to you, you can pray to hear His voice better. Try practicing listening time, in silence, starting by simply saying: “Speak, Lord, I am listening.”
