Cercle de Bruges has started its entry into the Conference League perfectly. The Groen en Zwart won with a tennis score (6-2).
Cercle de Bruges did not do anything by half measures for their first match in the Conference League this season. The people of Bruges, back on the European scene after 28 years of absence, dominated the meeting.
Kevin Denkey was exceptional. He scored 3 goals and delivered 2 assists. From the 3rd minute, he offered the first goal to Alan Minda, before scoring three times himself in the 26th, 30th and 54th.
Despite an attempted reaction from St. Gall with a goal from Kevin Csoboth in the 58th minute, Cercle maintained its hold on the match.
Gary Magnee added a magnificent double in the 63rd and 68th, with a superb curling shot and a spectacular backheel. The second Swiss goal, signed by Mambimbi at the end of the match in the 81st minute, only reduced the extent of the defeat.
