21,733 participants in the Geneva marathon

The Mandement race is reborn from its ashes thanks to a brand new committee that thinks big: next year, a festive marathon will be run in the 3 communes of the Geneva wine-growing district: Satigny, Dardagny and Russin.

It is one of the popular races which has suffered the most from the coronavirus in Geneva. The Mandement race returns on Saturday after four years of absence. On the menu: trail, walking, running for adults and children through the towns of Satigny, Dardagny and Russin. All this, thanks to an entirely new committee.

With five hundred and ten registered on the internet, participation is not yet what it was in the years before the coronavirus, but interested runners have the opportunity to register on site in Satigny on Saturday morning.

Stefane Monti and his committee took over the reins of the Course du Mandement last January.

Our primary goal is not to break any records, since this marathon will be festive. Stefane Monti

If this year, the new committee has planned a forty-fourth “light” edition, next year for the forty-fifth edition, it is thinking big with the holding of a festive marathon across the communes of the district: Satigny, Dardagny and Russin. At least ninety percent of the route will be in these three municipalities and the route promises to be varied.

No similar race in the Lake Geneva region

The organizers decided to set up this festive marathon to showcase the landscapes and products of Mandement.

And as for this forty-fourth edition, the start of the first race will be at 8 a.m. It is still possible to register on site up to half an hour before the start of each race (those for children will be run in the afternoon). Here are the times:
