Loana Lecomte won her fourth title as French cross-country mountain bike champion, this Sunday, May 5, in Levens (Alpes-Maritimes) to reassure herself less than three months before the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In the absence of Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, the 24-year-old Savoyard flew through the proceedings on very muddy terrain, winning solo with more than two minutes ahead of her first competitors.

“I am very happy to have retained my title. I hope to be able to honor this beautiful French champion jersey. I know I still have work to do, but I am confident”commented on the 2023 world vice-champion who was left with a retirement during a World Cup round in Brazil.

“I was never worried, but winning gives you confidence. I was able to make up for the little downside I had in Brazil. I’m back on the right track. Now, I will continue the preparation and keep fresh to get to the best of my form in Paris”she added.
