Arsenal puts pressure on City. Easy winners 3 goals to 0 from Bournemouth this afternoon as part of the 36th day of the Premier League, the Gunners temporarily pushed the Citizens back to four points in the race for the title of champion of England. Launched by a penalty from Bukayo Saka (44th) just before the break, Mikel Arteta’s players hit the nail on the head in the second half thanks to goals from Leandro Trossard (70th) and Declan Rice (90th + 6).

Forced to perform flawlessly at the end of the championship to hope to deprive Manchester City of a fourth consecutive crown as king of England, the Londoners began the match with the same starting eleven which had in turn disposed of Chelsea (5- 0) and Tottenham (2-3) in previous days. Good legs and largely dominant in the first half, Martin Odegaard’s teammates however had to wait until the approach of half-time to manage to deceive the excellent Cheeries goalkeeper Mark Travers.

Long held in check by Bournemouth’s last rampart, Arsenal finally found the fault just before the break on a penalty perfectly transformed by Bukayo Saka (44th, 1-0) and mischievously obtained a few seconds earlier by Kai Havertz. Reassured by this logical opening of the score, but cruel for the visitors as Travers’ fault seemed light, the Gunners moved forward in the second half with the intention of quickly taking cover. Once again thwarted in their plan by the always impeccable Mark Travers (49th, 51st), the Londoners then changed their tune.
