CH’s next injured… Josh Anderson?

Some clues lead us to believe that Josh Anderson could be the next official injured player for the Montreal Canadiens. After Patrik Laine and David Reinbacher, Anderson’s name could appear on this list, he who found himself with the group which is not playing this evening (Tuesday) during the morning session.

Josh Anderson’s condition remains a bit worrying…

Add to this that he was conspicuous by his absence during training on Monday to undergo treatments. We can also construct scenarios with the situations that emerge before us, such as the presence of Oliver Kapanen on the right flank. We want to test his level of understanding as a winger, a job very different from the pivot position.

The reminders of Tuesday morning can’t stop me from thinking… Do Martin St-Louis and his acolytes want to see Luke Tuch stand out more with a view to securing a position with the club in the event of an early visit to the infirmary for Josh Anderson? This is far from being an unthinkable scenario.

Except… St-Louis declared, following training, that the recalls of Tuch and Lucas Condotta “were mainly aimed at managing workloads”. Yes, it’s an additional opportunity for the two guys, but the main reason seems to be to rest a few veterans before the start of the 2024-25 regular season.

The logical next step, in my opinion, is to observe the material of Oliver Kapanen on the right flank and if he feels comfortable, he could certainly find himself among the players retained with the big club. At the center position, there is congestion with Nick Suzuki, Kirby Dach, Christian Dvorak and Jake Evans, so the best chance for him to achieve his goal remains the right wing… even more so with the loss of Patrik Laine and a potential injury to Josh Anderson.
