Moving to Utah: “It didn’t happen the way people think”

If we stick to the words of André Tourigny, the head coach of the Utah Hockey Club, the move of the team from Arizona to Utah was managed masterfully.

In any case, this is what he said in an interview with Jean-Charles Lajoie, at the premiere of the new season of the show JiC on TVA Sports.

“It didn’t happen the way the world thinks, and it didn’t happen the way we thought either,” he declared. We didn’t arrive in a place where there was no organization. We arrived at a place where there were already 1000 Jazz employees [le club de la NBA en Utah].»

He did not hesitate to praise the team’s owner, Ryan Smith.

“We arrived in an exceptional organization, with exceptional owners who have great values,” continued Tourigny. They took care of our players. […] Honestly, it was done in an extraordinary way.”
