Negotiations for the return of Irvin Cardona are slow to come to fruition but optimism would be required at ASSE.
It was without recruits that ASSE welcomed FC Nantes (1-1) yesterday but Eirik Horneland and Ivan Gazidis announced some adjustments during this transfer window, and Loïc Perrin confirmed that negotiations were underway. They concern in particular Irvin Cardona.
Augsburg would be quite greedy
Loaned to Espanyol Barcelona, the striker expressed his wish to leave the Spanish club, which would have validated his departure. But according to Peuple Vert, it is with Augsburg that the negotiations are stuck. “ASSE has yet to finalize an agreement with Augsburg, the club with whom Cardona remains under contract until June 2027. Negotiations are continuing, as Cardona wants a lasting commitment with the Greens rather than just a six-month loan.
-The amount of the purchase option remains the main blocking point,” announces the media dedicated to the Greens. Everything is showing confidence… “Despite the slowness of the discussions, a rapid outcome is expected. The player is ready and waiting for a definitive green light. ASSE will have to confirm its return before Wednesday evening so that it can be lined up against Auxerre this Friday. The timer is started. »
As a reminder, Augsburg had set an option at €1.8 million this summer by loaning the player to Espanyol.
