The search for a goalkeeper, to take over from Brice Samba who left for Stade Rennais, continues at RC Lens. And perhaps it is close to its outcome because the northern club would have set its sights on the AS Roma goalkeeper, Mathew Ryan.
A Roma goalkeeper in the viewfinder
A 32-year-old Australian international goalkeeper, he is only Mile Svilar's understudy in the Roma team and what's more, he is at the end of his contract at the end of the current season. This is therefore the last window of the transfer window for the Louve club to sell it in return for compensation. Transfermarkt values him at 2.5 million euros.
An operation that seems financially good for Lens
Mathew Ryan, however, has two more seasons in option, negotiated when he signed last summer for a single guaranteed season. His contract brings him the equivalent of an estimated 60,000 euros gross monthly. For an RC Lens wishing to save money, the operation seems financially interesting. Sportingly, on the other hand, that will remain to be proven.
