Rigobert Song named Central African Republic coach

Eliminated in the round of 16 of the CAN 2023 with Cameroon, Song's mission will be to aim for a first qualification for the CAN 2027, or even the 2026 World Cup, with the 135th nation in the latest FIFA ranking, already absent of CAN 2025 in Morocco. Anything but a trivial matter since the Central African Republic is last in Group B of the qualifiers for the upcoming CAN, with one victory in six matches, and 5th out of six teams in Group I in the race for the next World Cup.
