Buts : M. Camara (8e) & Ajorque (25e) for SB29 // Veretout (45e+2) for OL
The Stade Brestois season, capable of stringing together performances in the Champions League, but also of falling at Angers (2-0, six days ago) and rotting in the middle of the table in Ligue 1, does not have much sense. This Saturday, at Francis-Le Blé, it was the SB29 of the good days that we were able to see: the one who shows his fangs, maintains a constant overspeed and is not afraid of anything or anyone. This time, his victim is Olympique Lyonnais (2-1)fifth in the championship after its recent series of six victories in seven matches in all competitions, but taken by surprise by a great Mahdi Camara – he the former Stéphanois – and all his friends. What a shame: Shakhtar Donetsk only presents itself in eleven days, for Éric Roy’s men.
Lacazette restrained by Bizot
It was a first half-hour benchmark – in their style – that the Brestois laid, with a newfound solidity, a bloodthirsty midfielder, the former Lyonnais Mama Baldé at the launch of the two goals, Camara assisting – with a superb backheel – and scorer (1-0, 8e)and a Ludovic Ajorque precious even beyond his break pawn (2-0, 25e). Thanks to Marco Bizot, impeccable on Alexandre Lacazette (28e), the locals then resisted while falling back against the conquering Lyonnais, until the end of the first act and a school action from the visitors led by Malick Fofana and leading to the reduction of the gap by Jordan Veretout (2-1, 45e+2)before the equalizer was refused to Corentin Tolisso for an offside of a few centimeters (45e+4).
The flag also rose narrowly, at the restart, for the untenable Mama Baldé (53e), and between two rather sluggish possessions of the Rhodaniens, Brest played the shots to the fullest and finally offered themselves the biggest chances, Mahdi Camara missing his double ball (61e) and Lucas Perri finding himself saved by his amount on an astonishing corner from the balancing act Kamory Doumbia (73e). During this time, Bizot kept the General in his pocket, on yet another caress from Rayan Cherki (68e), and was no longer bothered afterward. Generous as can be, as often, Brest finished with cramps and injuries. But Brest finished victorious.
