To the sound of “Allez Brest go, go Brest go”, around sixty “Bad Gones”, supporters of Olympique Lyonnais, joined the stand of Bout du monde supporters during the BBH – Rapid Bucharest, this Saturday and gave voice to the locals. At the same time, Olympique Lyonnais played a match against Stade Brestois at Le Blé. But why weren’t they cheering for their team? A prefectural decree was issued on Friday morning to regulate the movement of Lyon supporters. Another group of supporters, the “Lyon 1950” had planned to travel by bus and minibus and had arranged to meet in Loperhet. For their part, the “Bad Gones” arrived by train in the city of Ponant and did not respect the supervision. They disembarked at Brest station when there was a ban on appearing in the city center.
“A banner was seized”
According to our information, Stade Brestois had chartered a bus to transport Lyon supporters from the station to the Francis-Le Blé stadium. The “Bad Gones” refused and were not allowed to enter the stadium. They then went by tram to the Arena, nearly six kilometers from the Francis-Le Blé stadium. In the parking lot of the compound, they displayed a banner to contest the prefectural decree. Police officers went to the Arena to prevent this from getting out of hand. “A problematic banner was seized and an investigation is underway to find the authors of the banner,” Police Commissioner Jacques Simon informed Le Télégramme.
It was then that the Lyon supporters entered the enclosure before leaving to pay for their tickets. For a good twenty minutes, the Lyonnais encouraged Brest and called on the public to follow their songs in praise of the Brestoises. Undisturbed, the BBH players won in style against the Romanians from Rapid Bucharest (33-21). The “Bad Gones” then returned to the city center in bars under surveillance by the police. They will leave Brest by train on Sunday.
